Scotts Timber Engineering and the Trussed Rafter Association (TRA)

Scotts Timber Engineering is a long term member of the TRA, which supports truss manufacturers around the UK. Membership isn’t just a tick box exercise; our design team, led by Lawrence Raven, values the benefits of membership highly.

“The TRA is a fantastic resource for those of us involved in designing trusses and metal web joists,” he started, “Extending from simple buyers guides for consumers, the TRA also provides up to date technical information for designers and specifiers.”

The library of data sheets and technical guides available to non-members is useful for buyers, while the more in-depth guides are an invaluable resource for Lawrence’s designers, simply categorised and easy to find for quick reference – and ranging from Health & Safety to design and manufacturing.

Lawrence continued: “TRA resources often tackle the tricky questions that come up for truss and joist designers everywhere, and it’s always useful to have a trusted source of unified information” He concluded: “In an ever-changing market it’s essential that we are always up to date on industry standards and best practice, the TRA helps us stay at the forefront of this without us having to spend time collating the information.”
