When Dean Turley, joined Scotts Timber Engineering in 2013 as a Designer, he didn’t expect to progress to General Manager of our Redditch factory so quickly. “As a family business, Scotts is a friendly close-knit environment,” he explained. “The drive to build and grow is remarkably strong and it’s rewarding to be a part of that success.”

The Redditch branch started as a small office in Solihull with a handful of customers to a fully operational factory, complementing our Northamptonshire operation and servicing a wide range of customers from local independents to national housebuilders across the country.

The challenges and demands of the role are those we all face in the housebuilding supply chain – meeting onsite requirements, supported by excellent customer service, whilst remaining competitive in what has been a difficult market since the pandemic. Dean gets his job satisfaction from the achievements of his team and his factory, as well as being able to make direct improvements: “The growth we have experienced and delivered on – particularly as we are bucking market trends – gives my team a real sense of achievement, and I’m proud of them all.”

An avid Aston Villa supporter, Dean also enjoys visiting great restaurants, long walks with the dog and slowly making his way through Italy with his wife in their down time!
