London Square Twickenham
Scotts Timber Engineering has started supplying posijoists to the London Square’s Twickenham Square development at the site of the old Richmond College in the prestigious TW2 postcode, close to the home of England Rugby.
Our initial order is to supply first and second floor & roof joists for each of 4 terrace blocks, consisting of a total of 30 dwellings. Delivery of the first load of joists, for the first floor of Terrace 1 went out on the 4th February, with more due to be despatched early in March for Terrace two and beyond.
Leading residential developer London Square, is in a joint venture with Latimer, the development arm of Clarion Housing Group on the project.
The former Richmond upon Thames College campus site in Egerton Road, near Twickenham Stadium and Harlequins’ Twickenham Stoop, was given planning approval for 212 homes, with 51 per cent being affordable, in August 2022 by the London Borough of Richmond.
In partnership with Latimer, London Square will develop the scheme and sell the private homes element, with the affordable homes being managed by Clarion Housing.
The sustainable mixed tenure development comprises 108 affordable homes, which includes a mix of 28 homes for London Affordable Rent and 80 for Shared Ownership, with another 104 homes for private sale. The first homes are expected to be completed in 2026.
The attractive scheme has been designed by leading architects BPTW, with Levitt Bernstein providing the landscape design. The development will be all Net Zero Carbon compatible homes. The site is a short walk to Twickenham station, with regular services to London Waterloo.
